FIS follows balanced approach of Finnish and Indian system of education.

The Finnish National Core Curriculums in ECEC and Primary grades have been adapted to suit schools in an international setting, having kept the elements that make Finnish education special.

about us

ECEC / PRE PRIMARY

Our core curriculum for ECEC is based on a conception of learning according to which children grow, develop, and learn in interaction with other people and the immediate environment. The conception of learning is also based on a view of the child’s active agency. Children are naturally curious and wish to learn new things. Learning is holistic and occurs everywhere. It combines knowledge, skills, actions, emotions, sensory perceptions, bodily experiences, language and thinking. Children also learn by playing, moving, exploring, working on different assignments, and expressing themselves as well as through activities based on arts.

PRIMARY

It focuses on developing FIS Transversal Competences that empower children with the the knowledge, skills, and values they need to become active and responsible members of society. It sets the stage for a lifetime of learning and personal development.

Basic education (Primary Education) is underpinned by the idea of the specific value of childhood. Each student is unique and valuable just as he or she is. Each student has the right to grow to his or her full potential as a human being and a member of society. To achieve this, students need encouragement and individual support as well as experiences of being heard and valued in the school community. Equally important are experiences of participation and opportunities for working together with others to advance the functioning and welfare of the community.
